Bit harsh Con I would say like myself a fair number of AU members also watch /have an interest in the Strikers. I love my cricket but imo the current BBL structure of 14 home away games then a final series for the top 5 ( out of eight ) is too long.

Re: Big Bash
i assume it was too hot for everybody today ? Crucial home game with finals around the corner and thousands don’t go. Even with both sides having some of the best 20/20 cricketers in the world .

40 plus tends to make people not want to go out. Hate that it was air on foxtel, was stuck watching the text feed on the internet.

I agree the heat does impact on crowds especially when it’s live on tv , just like at Saturday night a Hindmarsh .

Very intersting I can't imagine a player on the losing side caring if an opposition player gets a ton or not. Unless of course there is ill feeling between the two.

No-one cares. Ashes about to begin and the T20 World Cup in the cabinet. Poor timing if anything (for BBL)

Re: Big Bash
I agree I think CA stuffed it when they went to 14 game home and away series, plus the lack of high profile players along the journey isn't helping.

Re: Big Bash
20/20 per se doesn't bother me but this get a bonus point for having a half time lead is a joke. I know the Sheefield Shield used to have this, but that bothered me less because there was quite often the chance a reulst couldn't be achieved in four days.

Re: Big Bash
It's bad enough that some captains chose not to chase the win at all, and just plump for the bonus point. Not a good look for mine.

Re: Big Bash
probably the best use of the rules I’ve seen in the BBL ever - why they don’t retire players more is beyond me.
Strikers choked.. bowled poor, fielded worse.

Surely choking implies they were favourites to win.C U Next Saturday wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 9:24 am probably the best use of the rules I’ve seen in the BBL ever - why they don’t retire players more is beyond me.

This is a team that snuck into the finals, against the team that won 3 more games during the regular season. To take it to the final ball made it a thrilling game, not a choke.

Yes to what you mentioned , but with Sixers missing
Daniel Hughes, Josh Phillipe, Mickey & Jack Edwards, Stephen O'Keefe and Wilks getting injured mid game... If ever there was a time for Strikers to win but ended up bottling it.
